Zero payment in oracle payables r12
Zero Amount Payment in Oracle Payables is the process of
Netting the credit memo with the Standard Invoice at the time of payment. For example,
You Supplier sent you an Invoice of amount $200 and you have booked this
Invoice as a Standard invoice in the Oracle Payables and then Your Supplier
send one another credit memo for an amount of $20 and he mentioned that he has
mistakenly add 20$ more in the first Standard Invoice so now he is giving the
credit memo to adjust these $20 so the final outstanding or the final amount we
need to pay to the supplier Is $180. But We have Already enter the Supplier
invoice for the amount of @200 so my system still showing the Outstanding of
$200 for this supplier but in actual is $180.
To make it correct in the system We will also enter the
Credit memo for the amount of $20 for this supplier.
Few Important Points to be consider before making Zero Payment in the System.
- If you pay with a payment batch, when you initiate a
payment batch you must check Allow Zero Payments in the Payment Batches
window.
- If the payment document you select is defined with a
format that allows only zero-amount payments, Payables will default the
Minimum and Maximum Payment Amounts to zero.
- If you want to select cancelled invoices for payment,
when you initiate a payment batch you must also check Allow Zero Invoices
in the Payment Batches window.
- If a supplier site's available credit amount exceeds
the invoice total, Payables will create a zero-amount payment to apply
part of the credit amount against the total of the basic invoice.
