In this post , we will be discuss about the BPM approval tool provided in Oracle fusion. BPM is the workflow engine in Oracle fusion which helps to drive the approval management in Oracle cloud. We need to configure the BPM workflow rules as per our business requirement to drive the approval process. Oracle Fusion has created the predefined BPM work list for most of the important important process in oracle cloud application like AP Invoice Creation , Payment approval , Journal Approval , Expense approval and many mores. We need to figure out the related BPM work list as per our business needs to write our business approval rule under that. We can customized the BPM work list to create the approval rules. Here below i will more explain about the BPM approval in oracle fusion.

BPM full form is Business Process Management.We can design the approval processes in BPM. We can design the Business approval processes in Oracle fusion with the Help of BPM. This is an Integrated Tool available in Oracle fusion to design and maintain approval rules as per the business needs.
BPM approval designed on this below levels.
Supervisory Approval:-
Supervisory' Hierarchy , it means approval will go to requester supervisors and supervisor's supervisor.
Position Approval :-
We can create Approvals based on the 'Positional' Hierarchy it means approval will follow the positional hierarchy.
Management Chain:-
We can create approval also based on the management chain in our organization.
Resource:-
In this option we can create approvals based on the Specific person of the organization where we want to send the approval notifications
Approval Group:-
we can also create approval group to which we send the approval notifications. Approval Group is some thing Static approval person group to which to send all requests for approval.
We can put any business rules in the BPM to meet the business requirement for the approvals. This BPM is little bit similar about AME in Oracle R12. Where we designs the business approval rules but in Fusion AME is obsoleted and BPM is uses to design the approval rules.
This is the BPM tool as below where we have the standard worklist for each module like AP Invoice approval , Expense Report Approval Journal approval many more.
Here below i will try to explain the BPM tool and the Tasks or worklists already available for the BPM approval.
Step1:- BPM Tasks / BPM Worklists
Select any one of the Task in the BPM worklist and then in the right side you will get those tasks and Rule tab.
Step2:- BPM Tasks And Rule
We can see two tabs 'Task' & 'Rules' for each BPM task in the BPM worklist.
Here we can set some properties on task level. We can set the person to which we want to Notify if some thing wrong in the approval process of this Task.
We can set other options like 'Allowing other things in the task'.
Step3:- Click on the approval Groups and you can create your custom approval groups to which you want to send the approval notifications in the BPM rules and once you created this Approval Group then you can use under approval rules.
Step 3:- BPM Rules.
We can see the Full Approval path for an particular BPM task in the 'Rules' Tab. Here Oracle fusion has already given so many rules in the Task to meet the Business requirement.
We can decide which rule we will use to configure our Business approval and then click on that business rules. We can also select and unselect the business rules which we want to use. We need to un-select those business rules which we don't want to use.
Step 4:- This is the window which will appear when you click on the rule of the task.
Click on '+' sign and it will create condition on this business rule.
This is the rule created after click on '+' sign.
Step5:- You can see the Rule and If and Then condition automatically created under this rule.
You can create if conditions based on their business requirement's and in the Then condition you can create Approval types in the Then condition.
Step6:- On these below approval types we can select in your If condition and create your approval rules in that.
