In this post , we will be discuss about How to Change Employee Number in Oracle Fusion. In Oracle Fusion , We can change the employee number for the employees in oracle fusion. If we have created the employees records in oracle fusion with wrong Employee number but now , we want to change the employee record with right/correct employee number , then we can do the same in oracle fusion. In this post , I will share the detail steps to Change Employee Number in Oracle Fusion.

2 Methods to Change Employee Number in Oracle Fusion

1. From Application UI (User Interface).

2.From HDL Tool.

From Application UI to Change Employee Number in Oracle Fusion

Step 1 :- 

 Navigate to setup and maintenance and search for "Manage Enterprise HCM Information"

Step 2 :- 

 Then do an edit -> Correct, and set the Person Number Generation method to "Manual"

Step3:- 

Then navigate -> Person management -> and search for the employee that you want to change the person number

Step4:- Select the person and open "Manage Person" ui for this employee

Step5:-  Under the legislation info region, you should see the person number region. Then you can edit the person number there and change it to a person number that you want to use.

Step 6:- Then submit the change.

Note :- Go back to "Manage Enterprise HCM Information" and do another edit -> correct and change the person number generation method to the one that you normally use.

From HDL Tool to Mass Change Employee Number in Oracle Fusion

If you have multiple Employee records for which you want to update the employee number then you can use the HDL tool to mass Update Employee Number in Oracle Fusion.

Below is the example changing the person number from 1234 to a dummy value 4567.

METADATA|Worker|SourceSystemId|SourceSystemOwner|EffectiveStartDate|EffectiveEndDate|StartDate|PersonNumber|ActionCode

MERGE|Worker|<>|<>|<>||<>|4567|HIRE

Under this Metadata we need to add each Employee Record for which we want to Update Employee Number in Oracle Fusion and then save the file in Worker.Dat file. 

Put the Worker.dat file under Worker.zip folder.

To Import this Worker.Zip file we need to follow these steps as below.

Once the zip file have been prepared. Then We need to go Data Exchange

Then Data Exchange ==> HCM Data Loader ==> Import and Load Data

Once Import the Worker File , Then Employee number will be changed for the added employees for the Worker File.
