How to Add Roles to User in Oracle Fusion
Hi friends, we are going to discuss
about how to add roles to user in oracle fusion. We will share the complete
steps to add new roles to users in Oracle Fusion. In Oracle fusion , we have
the roles as compared to responsibilities in oracle apps. We should have the
desired role to access the oracle fusion application desired module. We have
the different roles as per the job roles in oracle fusion. In Oracle Fusion ,
We have the 'security console' module under oracle fusion , under which we do
maintains the user and roles in oracle fusion. In security console module , we
do create new application users and new custom roles as per our requirement.
Under users section of Security console we do add new roles to users in oracle
fusion. Here below is the details steps to add new roles to user in oracle
fusion.
4 Types of roles in Oracle Fusion
1.Abstract role
2.Job roles
3.Duty roles
4.Data roles
Abstract role:-
Abstract role not related to any specific his or her Job. We can say abstract role are those which user need to perform his other duties beside his job roles. It means User need to perform the task associated with the duties of work not related to his particular job.Job Roles :-
Job roles are a type of enterprise role which is specific to your job in your company.
Job roles inherit duty roles that one person need to perform the tasks associated with the duties of the job. Job roles are not assigned entitlement to access functions directly. You change job roles by changing their hierarchy of inherited abstract and duty roles. Job roles may inherit other job roles, abstract roles, and duty roles.
Duty Roles :
Duty roles are a type of application role. The reference implementation contains predefined duty roles.For example, the Accounts Payable Manager job role inherits the Approving Payables Invoices Duty role.
Duty roles provide access to the application functions that users require to perform the tasks associated with the duty.
Data Roles :
Data roles are a type of enterprise role. This kind of roles to provide data access or grants. It may inherit abstract, duty or job rolesStep by Step to add roles to user in oracle fusion
Here below we are sharing the example to add role to user in oracle fusion. Please refer these below steps to add new roles in Oracle Fusion.
Step 1. To Create User Access in Oracle cloud , We need to go this below navigation
Go to Tools ==> Security Console

2. Click On Users Option as highlighted below and Click on Add User Account

3. To Create User Account having No Employee Record or with attaching any Employee record then Select the Person Type 'None' as below.
To create User Account having Employee Record we need to select Person Type 'Worker'. In Oracle Cloud , We do call Employees as a Worker.

Step4:- Click on the Add Role Button , to attach the Roles access with User Account as below.

Step5:- For Example , For Procurement access to this user account , We need to assign the Role 'Procurement Manager' in Oracle Cloud as below.
