How to Setup Smart view in Oracle Fusion Application

Hi friends, we are going to discuss about the Setup for Smart view in Oracle Fusion Application. We will share the detail steps with screenshots to setup the smart view tool in your desktop. Smart view is the new reporting tool in oracle fusion application which helps to designs and build the GL level MIS reports in oracle fusion application. Smart view tool is very user friendly which helps to design the reports by the end users itself. Smart view don't need the technical expertise to design the simple reports. Simple smart view report can design very easily with the help of smart view. Here below , we will share the complete detail about the smart view and how you can setup the smart view setup in your system.

Steps to Setup the Smart view in Oracle Fusion Application

Step 1:-When a user wants to connect with MS Excel via Smart View to the Fusion Applications General Ledger Essbase Cube for the first time the connection information must be set.

Smart View and Financial Report are used in the Financials pillar of Fusion Applications

Step 2:- In the navigator choose: General Accounting > Financial Reporting Center

Step 3:- In the navigation on the left choose Financial Reports >Open Workspace for Financial Reports

Step 4:-  Copy the URL from the Browser, e. g. http://ucelovm062b.us.oracle.com:10622/workspace/index.jsp


Step 5:- Remove everything after workspace and append SmartViewProviders. In this example it would be:


http://ucelovm062b.us.oracle.com:10622/workspace/SmartViewProviders

 

Please note that the URL for customers of the Oracle Cloud might have a format like this:
http://ucelovm062b.us.oracle.com/workspace/SmartViewProviders


Step 6:- Open MS Excel with the SmartView Add-In

Step 7:- Click on the Smart View tab and select Options

Step 8:- Enter the new URL into Shared Connections URL under Advanced

Step 9:- Click Ok.

Step 10:- Click on the Open icon to display the Smart View Home on the right



Step 11:- 

In the Smart View Home click on Shared Connections and log in with the user name and password

Step 12:- In Shared Connections select a server to connect
