Types of search pages in OAF
In OAF , We can create Three Types of Search Pages in OAF Page to search the Page in the Result type table formats. These are the Below search Types available in the OAF.
1.Query Based Search Page.
2.Advanced Search Page.
2.Manaul Search Page.
Query Based Search Page.:-
In query Based Search page , we create the OAF search Page through Query Region style available in the OAF. This is very popular Search Region to create the Search Page in OAF. This Query search Page has two properties for their Construction Mode. 1. Result Based Search 2. Auto customization Search.
When we selects the Result Based Search , Then query region automatically creates the Search criteria for the Search Page. It involves , automatically creates the Search Page Header too , in which we select the Search Criteria for the Search Page. Auto Customization Criteria
But When we Select the Auto Customization Criteria , then Query Region does not create the Search criteria for the Search Page and also does not creates the Search Page Header too , in which we select the Search Criteria for the Search Page. When We select the Auto Customization Criteria then We need to Manually create the Search Page Header and also manually create the Search Items in this Header. We also create the Search Items Mappings with the result table too but in the Result Based Search it happens automatically.
Advanced Search Page:-
In normal search page or in simple query region , we can only create the simple search page with the option to create search criteria also based on the columns of the search region. But in the Search criteria we don't have much options to create our search criteria or filter but Advanced Search region comes with the advanced feature for the Search criteria. In this search criteria , we can do search with multiple parameters like ' Equal To' , Contains' ,'Start With' , 'Not Equal To'.
Suppose , If I know the exact word of the Search Criteria then I can use the search criteria filter 'Equal to' but if I only knows the Only the First word of the Search Criteria then We can use the search criteria filter 'Start With' .Find more About Advanced Search Page
Manual Search Page
In manual Search Page, We have to write the Conditions manually , which create Search through code written in the Controller of the Page.
