Data roles in oracle fusion : How to provide Data roles to users in oracle fusion
In this post , We will be discuss about Data roles in oracle fusion. Data roles help to provide the data access for the given roles in oracle fusion. without data role , we cannot access any role attached to application user. We need to provide the data role for user roles to provide access to access the data for the given Business unit or Ledger or FA book. Data roles is more about Data security in which We do secure the Business Unit data in oracle fusion as per application access. Its more like feature of MOAC in Oracle apps.In Oracle Fusion , there is no MOAC but still we have Data roles in oracle fusion. In Oracle fusion , We have the functionality similar to MOAC for Data security. Here below we will share the complete steps to provide Data roles in oracle fusion.
Steps to Provide the Data roles in oracle fusion
Step1:- In Oracle fusion , We have the roles concept which we do assign to the users to provide the application access. Here below i will share the steps about, how we can implement the data roles/security in these roles which helps to maintain the access control in oracle fusion.
Step2:-
Go to Setup and Maintenance and then Search the ‘Manage Data Access for Users’ as below.

Click on the ‘+’ icon to create the Data Access for Application User.
As below Select the User Name and Role and Security Type like ‘Business Unit’ & ‘Ledger’ many more.
As per the roles attached to User , we do provide the Data roles , means that for all user Roles , we do mentioned which Business Unit's Data we are providing for this User to access.
