In Oracle Fusion, We have the roles. These roles are the set of responsibilities which we do assign to user , so that user can start working on the oracle fusion application. User can only access that part of the oracle fusion application which they have the role assigned. So roles helps to provide the access in Oracle Fusion.
Now after fusion application access, We need to provide the data access or we can say need to assign the business unit to users. In this step , we assign the business unit access under that role so that user can start work for the business unit under that role. In this process, We do assign the set of business units to each roles for the user for which we want to provide the working access in the oracle fusion application. So that user can only work for these business units under that roles in oracle fusion application.
Without assigning the business unit to user roles , user cannot start work in the oracle fusion application. User will have fusion application access but cannot work in the application.
